Music ministry serves as a powerful conduit for the Holy Spirit, transforming the congregation from a collection of individuals into a unified body of worshippers. It is far more than a "preliminary" to the sermon; it is a sacred bridge that connects the human heart to the divine presence. Through the intentional selection of hymns, contemporary songs, and instrumental pieces, the music ministry helps to articulate the theology of the church in a way that is deeply emotive and memorable. When we sing together, we are not just performing a musical task; we are declaring our shared identity and reinforcing the truths of Scripture through the "universal language" of melody. This communal expression allows for a unique release of burdens and a refocusing of the soul, creating a spiritual atmosphere where the walls of resistance come down and the heart becomes fertile ground for the Word of God.
Beyond the Sunday morning experience, the music ministry offers a vital space for artistic stewardship and discipleship within the church. For those who serve—whether as vocalists, instrumentalists, or tech crew—it is an opportunity to offer their God-given talents back to the Creator with excellence and humility. This ministry fosters a culture of "sacrificial service," where the goal is never personal performance but the exaltation of Christ. By involving members in choirs, worship bands, or handbell ensembles, the church provides a structured environment for intergenerational mentorship and creative growth. It teaches participants that their skills are tools for ministry, used to lead others into an encounter with the Living God. This investment ensures that the church remains a place where beauty and truth coexist, inspiring the weary and energizing the faithful through the gift of song.
Each Sunday in worship we offer music to worship God. Our service is primarily contemporary in nature with our praise band. The choir provides special music in our service as well. The choir is open to all who have a desire to sing; the praise band is by audition only. Our kids choir meets after worship on Sundays in our MDO Bldg.
